FAITH AND FOOD

Weeks of planning, to serve our neighbors in the local SoCal community. More than 25 volunteers came out and served more than 45 people at two side-by-side motels in Anaheim. Served those who do not often get a good quality meal nor a chance to share a meal with those around them. People who are struggling to get back into permanent housing and out of their 200 square feet motel rooms. Hoping for chance at a better life. We met with a few of the families who just need a slight hand up to get them to the next stage. Children were given toys and chose from a variety of homemade desserts made with love by our great volunteers. Everyone had an opportunity to have a catered lunch from Hatam Restaurant of Anaheim. Lots of smiles and joy from those serving and those being served on this day. Extra food and dessert was taken to the homeless in Santa Ana. Each family also received a gift card to Stater Brothers so they can purchase anything they may need. Thank you to those who volunteered at this #FaithandFood initiative, and a special thanks to the newly formed Uplift Cares team, who wants to make this sort of activity commonplace. We would also like to thank donors who chipped in for the gift cards and to the great folks at the Islamic Society of Corona Norco who paid for the food and more. Join us next time!
